BLACKROCK AT KAANAPALI BEACH

"I have painted Kaanapali from many points of view over the years. This composition is similar to a poster which I did of Kaanapali in the 80's. While working on this painting at Kaanapali, I paint the foreground the way it looked 20 years ago with the edges of the beach rugged, bougainvillea sprouting from the sand. I always leave out any buildings and hotels.

gives me great leeway.)"
