NANI HAWAII

"This was one of two paintings commissioned by the Orchid Hotel on the Kohola Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. They wanted a beach scene to hang at their reception desk. The painting was to have the distinctive Kohala Mountains in the background. I did this in the late afternoon with lots of glowing warm colors. This palette works especially well with the hotel's beige and tawny walls. This is also a special place for me as I grew up right on the other side of these mountains. It was particularly exciting and satisfying to have been hired to paint this subject.
The original is 34x48 inches."
