PRESENCE OF KALALAU, KAUAI
"This is an awesome valley on the island of Kauai. Kalalau Valley is located on the Napali coast. This composition is a section of the valley as seen from the second lookout at Kokee State Park. I have very close friends on Kauai who have a cabin at Kokee. We go hiking in the area once or twice each year. This gives me the opportunity to observe this amazing valley at all times of the day. Kalalau is a valley of primeval beauty, whether experienced from the coastline or the mountains. The Ohia' Lehua trees are my favorite, particularly for their twisting limbs and extensions over precipices. They adapt themselves to altitude and terrain. There is legend that if the feathery red blossoms are picked, it will rain.
The original is 50x30 and in a private collection."
